Even after a quarter of a century, accountability for the heinous crimes committed on September 11th, 2001, is still a cause for which we must contend to achieve any real semblance of truth or justice.
In just over a week from the time of this writing, Friday, September 11th, 2026, will mark a quarter century from one of the most pivotal events in human history.
The false flag attack of September 11, 2001, was undoubtedly a pivotal turning point for the American zeitgeist — It fundamentally changed every aspect of not only American lives, but arguably life on the planet as a whole. Throughout such time we have witnessed the cultural attitudes towards 9/11 go through a metamorphosis. Many who lived through the events recall the intense nationalistic fervor that followed. In some ways, it served as a point of unity for the country crossing all political boundaries, the notion prevailed that no matter our differences an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.
This unwavering patriotism, however, quickly became co-opted by political opportunists using it as a rallying cry to manufacture support for imperialist ambitions, and any semblance of national unity quickly became inverted. In the words of President George W Bush: “You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists.” Any question of the official narratives of that fateful day quickly became blasphemous, any critique of the American foreign policy response; the illegal invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the violations of international law that followed, the carpet bombing of civilians, and any other slew of heinous war crimes would have one labeled as a terrorist sympathizer. To hell with common decency, to hell with the supposed rule of law, or any alleged “rules of war”, the American military beast was set to be unleashed on the entire globe, and one had better get behind it or get rolled over by it.
The Global War On Terror, as they so called it, quickly became a Global War Of Terror, with Western imperialist powers led by the United States waging a crusade of conquest intent to maintain unipolar hegemony, beginning in West Asia and expanding throughout the global South in the name of “fighting terrorism”.
And yet, with time, even that sentiment has waned. Indeed, two and a half decades later much of the contemporary sentiment towards America’s forever wars in the Middle East have soured. The perpetual military campaign abroad has cost countless lives, while doing little to improve the quality of life here at home. In fact, the opposite is true. The US national debt, sitting at $5.8 trillion in September of 2001, has ballooned to nearly six times that much at over $40 trillion as a result of reckless military spending combined with various other elements of fiscal mismanagement.
The United States has not become anymore secure for its part, either. At least not when it comes to securing the freedoms and liberties that were supposedly so precious and so sacrosanct as to be the reason we came under attack in the first place. Twenty five years later and Americans are remarkably less free. There is not a single part of the Bill of Rights that hasn’t been eroded by one or more presidencies in the years since the attacks of September 11th.
And, in the years since, truth has slowly come to light. In September 2001 it was a scarcely known fact that it was American foreign policy decisions during the Cold War that directly led to the creation of groups like Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and the rise of extremist figures the likes of Osama bin Laden. Even lesser known was the role that Saddam Hussein played serving as a proxy for US intelligence prior to becoming the convenient scapegoat atop the mountain of lies that led to the invasion of Iraq.
Now, this seldom acknowledged history is more of a taboo open secret in the American conscience, rather than an alleged conspiracy theory that would be dismissed outright as before. While sentiments rejecting the wars in the Middle East, or at the very least questioning their effectiveness, once considered forbidden are now relatively commonplace.
As is the case for questioning the contemporary credence of the official story of 9/11. If, in the early post 9/11 era, one were to dare suggest that our government was in any way complicit with the attacks that unfolded, you would be deemed a raving lunatic. The term “truther” became a pejorative, despite the fact that it was the friends and families of the 9/11 dead, along with many of its survivors and first responders, that initiated the 9/11 truth movement. They saw the holes in the official story, they demanded justice for their loved ones, and stood steadfast in the face of derision and mockery.
And in the years since, just as with the lies of the wars that came thereafter, the biggest lie of all began to unravel. The American consciousness has shifted, and where once critique of the official story was verboten, a significant portion of the public now understands at the very least that the official narrative of September 11th presented by the American government is an incomplete misrepresentation of events.
While those fewer curious, astute, and studious persons came to realize the true extent of the deception. That the American government simply didn’t mishandle a tragic terrorist attack, or ignore information that could have prevented it. But was instead directly complicit and culpable in an organized operation to kill thousands of its own citizens in an effort to justify global imperialist expansionism.
The Free Thought Project has been among many who have published extensive information corroborating this complicity.
From the findings of a several years long scientific analysis consisting of numerous architects, engineers, and other relevant academics and experts all coming to the conclusion that the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 could have only occurred as a result of controlled demolition; To the fact that declassified documents now conclusively point to the likelihood that some of the 9/11 hijackers were indeed assets of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Our most in depth peace on the subject, A Crash Course In 9/11 Truth — Seven Documentaries You Need To See still serves as an essential piece of content compiling a vast amount of information refuting the official story, consisting of first hand accounts of multiple experts and whistleblowers, including former US government insiders, national security personnel, military officers, first responders, and members of the 9/11 Commission, as well as exhaustive and comprehensive investigations by renowned independent journalists uncovering the internal mechanisms used in facilitating the attack.
9/11 still serves as the primary turning point that led us down the collision course to our current day dystopia, with the normalization of expansions of unchecked power from two decades ago laying the foundation for later abuses of the state; from the authoritarian social controls of Covid-1984, to the fascistic despotism of Trump 2.0.
That is why continuing the fight for 9/11 truth, even in the face of much more prevalent and present issues must still hold a place among those who fight for justice. It serves as a linchpin for the accountability of the crimes that came after. And to that end, the courageous crusaders of 9/11 truth continue their campaign.
As with years passed, a consortium of 9/11 truth advocates are preparing to descend upon Manhattan for the annual 9/11 Truth Conference organized by the incomparable Richard Gage, the founder of Architects and Engineers For 9/11 Truth, on the 25th anniversary of the attacks.
Slated to take place between September 10th through the 13th, Turning The Tide: 9/11 25 Years Later will bring together a litany of guests consisting of activists, academics, journalists, first responders, survivors, victims’ family members, and more for a comprehensive conference not only continuing to demonstrate the copious amount of evidence disproving the official narrative, but once again calling for this evidence to be acted upon. For the true perpetrators of these attacks to be brought to justice, for the families and friends of those murdered by their own government to finally be given the due respect that they deserve and for their loved ones killers to be held to account.
Among the dozens of notable speakers scheduled to give keynote addresses are TFTP colleague, founder of The Conscious Resistance Network and longtime 9/11 truth advocate Derrick Broze, esteemed investigative journalist James Corbett, documentary filmmaker Jason Bermas, commentator and comedian Jimmy Dore, human rights advocate and co-founder of Pink Floyd Roger Waters, former US Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Dr. Bret Weinstein, host of the Grand Theft World podcast Richard Grove, and many many more.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase at TurningTheTide911.org, along with full event details and itinerary. For those wishing to view the conference, a free live stream will be accessible via the website, as well as on YouTube via Redacted News.
