The daughter of civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., called on the federal government to drop files on pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, just as the Trump administration released 230,000 files into her father’s 1968 assassination.
“Now, do the Epstein files,” MLK’s youngest child Bernice King, 62, posted to X on Monday.

King’s request followed the release of nearly a quarter million documents detailing the FBI’s investigation into her father’s assassination 60 years ago.

“Today, after nearly 60 years of questions surrounding the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we are releasing 230,000 MLK assassination files, available now at http://archives.gov/mlk,” Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard wrote on X. “The documents include details about the FBI’s investigation into the assassination of MLK, discussion of potential leads, internal FBI memos detailing the progress of the case, information about James Earl Ray’s former cellmate who stated he discussed with Ray an alleged assassination plot, and more.”
King’s family responded, protesting any attacks on MLK that may come as a result of the doc dump.
“During our father’s lifetime, he was relentlessly targeted by an invasive, predatory, and deeply disturbing disinformation and surveillance campaign orchestrated by J. Edgar Hoover through the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” King’s family stated. “While we support transparency and historical accountability, we object to any attacks on our father’s legacy or attempts to weaponize it to spread falsehoods.”
Gabbard’s attempt at transparency comes as the Trump administration has been embroiled in controversy over the Epstein files for three weeks, after the Justice Dept. released a memo denying the existence of a client list or a blackmail operation, and insisting the billionaire pedophile killed himself behind bars.
