What are the characteristics of a psychopath?
Psychopathy is often characterized by a set of personality traits and behaviors. Some of the key characteristics typically associated with a psychopath include:
- Lack of Empathy: Psychopaths often have little to no ability to empathize with others, making it difficult for them to understand or care about the emotions and suffering of others.
- Superficial Charm: They can be charismatic, charming, and persuasive, often using these traits to manipulate others for personal gain.
- Manipulativeness: Psychopaths tend to be skilled at manipulating people for their own benefit, often using deceit and lying to control situations or get what they want.
- Narcissism: A heightened sense of self-importance, entitlement, and a belief that they are superior to others is common.
- Impulsivity: They may act without considering the consequences, often engaging in risky or dangerous behaviors.
- Lack of Remorse or Guilt: After causing harm or distress to others, psychopaths often show no regret, guilt, or concern for the impact of their actions.
- Shallow Emotions: They may appear emotionally shallow, displaying a limited range of emotions and often struggling with genuine emotional connections.
- Chronic Lying and Deceit: Lying comes easily to psychopaths, and they may weave complex stories or alter facts to suit their purposes.
- Failure to Accept Responsibility: Psychopaths tend to blame others for their problems or actions rather than accepting accountability for their behavior.
- Blunted or Inconsistent Moral Code: They often have a distorted or inconsistent sense of right and wrong, which may allow them to justify harmful actions.
Just about every one of those characteristics match the majority of law enforcement officers out there today. I have said it many times over the years that there are no “good” police” officers out there because if you, as a “good officer”, do what you swore an oath to do you will actually be weeded out or walk away from the tyranny.
Here is Brian, from “Here’s The Deal” showing us what a real psycho cop acts like.
