I see it everywhere. In my family, in my friends, and in most of society. People will use anything to escape the harsh truth of reality. People are miserable inside and the corporations, government, and elites all know this.
They offer escapes, numbness, distractions, and fake happiness in nearly everything that is offered to society. It is up to the individual to wake up and realize that these things are not making you complete inside. They are only “sticking a band-aid over a hemorrhaging wound”. It is hard to do, but it can be done. Once you see how these things are being used against you it will be hard to “unsee” them.
