Yes it can be a “weight” on you. I have been “yelling” since 9/11 about what I came to know as “evil”. Then, since 2020, I have been “screaming” about the evil in this world. To the point I have lost friends and family. I have learned just what you described about people not wanting to know, see, or hear about what is truly going on in this world. I have sometimes asked myself if the majority of the population will ever “wake up” and I have reached the conclusion that no one really “wakes up” until it affects them in a real way.
