Imagine, for a moment, that you are an elderly man that lives with a wife that has dementia. The wife inadvertently dials 911 and says that you, the husband, shot her. Yes, I agree that this is an “emergency call”. The officers responding should be on high alert, but they should also exhibit “professionalism” and “discretion” upon arriving on the scene.
Instead the officers come to the house like an “assault unit”. They bang and kick on the door. When the elderly man opens the door they yank him out and throw him down onto the bricks. All of this before finding out that there had been no shooting at all. The Louisville Kentucky Police are the ones responsible for doing this to this elderly man.
He ended up suing the police department, but did one penny come out of the officers pockets? Of course not, they were not even written up. They probably laughed about it for days. This man that went through all of this stated “I used to have the upmost respect for police, BUT NOT ANYMORE!
