Police officers in Bozeman, Montana, were caught playing ‘Crime Bingo,’ also called “Midshift Bingo,” with traffic stops while on duty.
“This crime bingo game was going on back in mid-January when 13 officers, including two sergeants, marked off squares apparently generated by one of several online services catering to the current customized bingo craze, according to the Bozeman Police Department,” Cowboy State Daily reports.
Some of the squares on the bingo card read:
- DRUG DUI
- BUTT-A** NAKED
- FOOT PURSUIT FOR ARRESTABLE OFFENSE
- RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLE
- OVER .30 BAC DUI

BOZEMAN POLICE DEPARTMENT is playing BINGO with your arrests. Literally. This is a real “Midshift Bingo” card used on-duty, confirmed by friends of mine who work at the state level—complete with squares like:
“Everyone on team gets a felony in a week”
“Arrest 3 people out of one car”
“Over .30 BAC DUI”
“Successful CPR”
“BUTT-A** NAKED”
“Team member hit on by arrestee”
“Vehicle extraction”
and even scoring for giving someone life-saving CPR as if it’s funny. This is not a joke. This is a taxpayer-funded police department turning real people’s trauma, arrests, and life-or-death moments into a game.
This police department, along with the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Belgrade Police Department, judges, State-level employees, and the system as a whole here in Montana is corrupt — and I have been telling y’all they’re going to be exposed, and they will–a lot keeps happening which needs to be accommodated for safely. But their time has come.
Bozeman PD: What exactly are you celebrating here—your win or our loss?

Per Cowboy State Daily:
The secret game came to light Thursday, when Bozeman Police Chief Jim Veltkamp held a press conference to reveal details about the game. In his statement to the press, Veltkamp insisted the rights of those stopped by BPD were not violated as part of the game.
Veltkamp said officers, “Were engaged in a bingo competition where success in the game hinged on whether they engaged in actions listed on the bingo card.”
“It did look like your standard bingo card,” added Veltkamp. “They filled in squares of things they wanted to see happen or have happened in order to check off that box in the bingo card.”
Other categories included “FOOT PURSUIT FOR ARRESTABLE OFFENSE” and “APPLY TQ OR CHEST SEAL,” referring to the use of a tourniquet or sealing wounds to a person’s torso to stop blood loss.
“One of those was to do a search warrant on a car,” said Veltkamp. “Which in and of itself, that is part of their duties. The concern is if they manipulated anything in order to be able to search a car.”
It took two and half months for the BPD, the Bozeman City Attorney’s Office and the Gallatin County Attorney’s Office to release information about the game.
At the press conference held at the Bozeman Public Safety Center, Veltkamp said the game went on for 12 days until someone alerted command staff, who shut down the game. BPD offered no details about whether money was involved, who specifically originated the game or how individual officers were disciplined.
Also still unknown is whether anyone on the police force got to call out, “bingo!”

From Police1:
The department, alongside the Bozeman City Attorney’s Office and the Gallatin County Attorney’s Office, conducted internal investigations. An independent attorney was also hired to review 24 cases tied to the time period when the game occurred. All concluded that none of the reviewed cases had been impacted by the game.
Despite these findings, Gallatin County Attorney Audrey Cromwell filed motions with the local District Court requesting judicial review to determine what information should be disclosed to defense counsel. Eleven felony cases tied to the bingo period are currently under legal review.
BPD has not disclosed the nature of the discipline issued, citing personnel privacy, according to the report. It also remains unclear who initiated the game or whether any money or rewards were involved.
