Dozens of thieves made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise during yet another “flash rob” looting spree at a mall in California over the weekend, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded at around 4 p.m. on Saturday in Los Angeles.
A crowd of more than 30 crooks stormed a Nordstrom department store at the Westfield Topanga shopping center and began stealing luxury goods.
Footage shot by witnesses during and after the raid has been circulating on social media.
Masked suspects dressed mostly in all-black can be seen inflicting widespread damage as they destroy displays, smash glass, and rip items off shelves.
“More than 30 people entered the store at once and within minutes grabbed more than $300.000 worth of merchandise from displays near the entrance,” the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) explained in a statement on Monday.
“One suspect, upon entering the store, sprayed bear spray on the face and
body of the security guard at the entrance to the store.”

While LAPD has vowed to “exhaust all efforts to bring those responsible into custody and seek criminal prosecution,” it is unclear if any suspects have been apprehended at the time of this writing.
The planned blitz was at least the second of its kind last week in the Los Angeles area.
On Tuesday, up to 40 suspects wearing hoodies and masks stormed an Yves Saint Laurent store in Glendale and made off with around $300,000 worth of merchandise.
