In this video below, from “Mister Porter”, it shows how all law enforcement should treat the First Amendment. In the video, a man is upset at another man for standing on the sidewalk holding a sign with profanity on it. The upset man thinks that he can make another person stop exercising his First Amendment rights and leave the area. Well, low and behold a Maryland state trooper shows up and educates the upset man. The trooper tells the man that as long as the man with the sign is on the public sidewalk, not interfering with traffic, he has every right to be there. The man keeps asking the trooper to remove him, but the trooper tells him that the man has his First Amendment right to freedom of speech. The only thing that I hold against the trooper is that he used the phrase “unfortunately, he has that First Amendment right”.
