Are we living in the “Land Of The Free, Home Of The Brave”? We are told that we are free, but it sure doesn’t seem that way if you are a critical thinker and pay attention to what is going on in this “Land Of The Free”. Everyday “We The People” are subjected to this ever evolving “web of surveillance”, that they tell us makes us “safer”.
If you and I are not free to put ourselves at risk, then are we really free? If I want to roll through a stop sign, at an intersection, that I can see has no other vehicle in it am I free to do so? If a traffic enforcer sees it then he or she will want to economically terrorize me on the side of the road. Who did I harm? Who is the victim, officer? The officer will likely tell me that he or she is stopping me for “my own safety”.
The officer is not my parent, is he or she? Is the government my parent? It sure seems as if they are trying to be these days. The “web of surveillance” I mentioned earlier is expanding daily. From traffic cameras, “flock cameras”, to even using your own cell phones to spy on your driving!
